FOR OUR UPCOMING 2025-26 CLUB SEASON SUMMER TRYOUT SESSIONS BEFORE you register to try out with the CHiX, please review the AGE GROUP info & table at: www.aircitychicks.com/info.htm#ages so you understand what age group(s) you are eligible to play in/try out for. When determining what AGE GROUP you are eligible to play in, you will need to use your BIRTHDATE (including year) to play on a NATIONAL division USAV/OVR team and for any CHiX JVA & AAU sanctioned teams. If you are trying out for a USAV/OVR sanctioned REGIONAL or AMERICAN division team, you can use EITHER your birthdate OR the GRADE you WILL BE in when school starts back up in the Fall of 2025. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF WHAT AGE GROUP YOU WILL BE IN, please SEND US AN EMAIL with the player's birthdate (including year) and the grade she will be in when school starts up in the fall. AiR CiTY CHiX' tryouts are "open tryouts" for ALL teams in ALL age groups. The CHiX will be extending "early offers" to some of our current club players in June; but, we will still have positions open for all teams going into tryouts!
Tryout fees are $40 per player, per age group. This includes ALL tryout dates for your age group. PLEASE NOTE: we are ONLY ACCEPTING CASH PAYMENT for tryout fees - please try to bring exact change (no coins please). Checks and money orders will not be accepted; and, due to processing fees, we will not accept credit card payments for tryouts.
Attending BOTH of the dates for your age group is NOT MANDATORY, but it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED so that coaches have the best opportunity to evaluate your skills. PLEASE ALSO NOTE: we are NOT ABLE to evaluate players at age groups other than their own and we are not offering any "make-up" tryout dates or tryout dates other than the dates we have posted. The primary reason for this is that coaches need to be able to evaluate players NEXT TO other players who are also candidates for our teams - we simply cannot make these comparisons if players aren't in the gym together.
GRADE LEVEL players (who cannot play on a National team or on one of our JVA teams are permitted to try out "up" ONE age group from their own age group; but, the CHiX do NOT recommend that other players try out for age groups other than their own.

If you attended any of our 2025 programs or you were a CHiX player for the 2024-25 club season and you have already completed this form, you don't need to submit another one (if you're not sure, go ahead and resubmit!)

AT OUR TRYOUTS for the 2025-26 CLUB SEASON
- AiR CiTY CHiX will be following tryout procedures and policies established by the Ohio Valley Region (OVR) and USA Volleyball (USAV) for tryouts pertaining to all of our OVR/USAV sanctioned and registered teams. For our JVA sanctioned and registered teams, AiR CiTY CHiX will be following tryout procedures and policies established by the Junior Volleyball Association (JVA).
- Tryout CHECK-IN will OPEN 30 minutes before your scheduled tryout begins - please DO NOT come into the gym area prior to your scheduled check-in time. At check-in, you will: 1) PAY your tryout fee of $40, 2) pick-up your TRYOUT NUMBER, 3) have PICTURE taken holding tryout number, 4) have a coach place tryout number on BACK of your shirt
- only ONE additional person (parent or guardian) will be permitted in the check-in line with each player
- once the player has been checked in, parent/guardian will be asked to exit the gym as our tryout sessions are closed to spectators
- your CHiX' $40 tryout fee covers ALL TRYOUT SESSIONS for a SINGLE age group; if you are trying out for two age groups, you will be required to pay two fees. EXCEPTIONS: 17's and 18's have a joint tryout time so only one fee is required if trying out for both 17's and 18's.
- Please DO NOT wear a shirt with a number on it since we will be issuing tryout numbers when you check-in and this will cause confusion for coaches who are evaluating. We also STRONGLY RECOMMEND that players NOT WEAR a DRYFIT/POLYESTER shirt - if we use self-adhesive numbers, they don't adhere well to this type of fabric.
- Please make note of the tryout number you are issued when you check-in on your first day of tryouts, you will need to reference this number again on your offer response form if you receive an offer from us; and, it will be the only identification we use when we post tryout results on our website! Players who are trying out for two age groups will be issued the SAME number for both age groups.
- We recommend that players, who are attending more than one day of tryouts, WEAR THE SAME "OUTFIT" to all tryout sessions. This will assist evaluators with player idenfitication! Be unique, that will help, too!
- PLAYERS SHOULD ONLY BRING a filled water bottle with a secure lid to tryouts.
- Please DO NOT BRING a volleyball (we have plenty) or any other valuable or unnecessary items.
OUR OFFER PROCESS for the 2025-26 SEASON
**NEW THIS YEAR** AiR CiTY CHiX will make ALL OFFERS via PHONE CALL to the phone number listed for offers on your tryout registration form. Offers will go out as early as within the first hour following the conclusion of each tryout session date. Our "first-round" offers are simply the offers made for the first 10 positions on a team; we want to get these offers in your hands as soon as possible! If a player should decline a "first-round" offer, a "secondary" offer would then be made to the next player in line for that position.
Please note that the "offer process" can take some time as we extend offers, wait for your answers, and continue to make additional offers. If a player declines an initial offer, we will make "secondary" offers to players from next level teams and/or from the wait list - these "secondary offers" could be made right away or several days AFTER the end of club tryouts (depending on when we receive the decline). We will continue this process until all teams are filled! Please be patient with the process and pay attention to the DEADLINES that are listed below - sometimes we don't get answers from players until close to a deadline.
VERY IMPORTANT: should you receive an offer for a BLACK (#2) team or WHiTE (#3) team, you can accept THAT offer and still be "in the running" for an offer from a higher level team (PiNK, #1; or BLACK). Accepting an offer for a "lower" team with the CHiX does not mean you can't still be considered for a higher level team!
All offers made by phone will be accompanied by a written, email offer within 24 hours of the offer by phone. Please make sure the EMAIL ADDRESSES you include on the tryout registration form are addresses you actually check (and that they are email addresses for a parent or guardian)! During the tryout and offer process, if you receive an offer by phone but DO NOT receive the accompanying EMAIL offer within 24 hours, please check your SPAM folder; if you still don't have it, please then contact club director, Tina Jasinowski at acchicks@gmail.com to ensure we have your correct email address.
ALL first-round offers for 14's and 15's teams will be made by 6:00 PM on SATURDAY, JULY 12
ALL first-round offers for 16's teams will be made by 5:00 PM on SUNDAY, JULY 13
ALL first-round offers for 17's & 18's teams will be made by 6:00 PM on SUNDAY, JULY 13
MULTIPLE OFFERS
Players trying out for CHiX teams may only receive ONE offer from us at a time. If a player receives an initial offer from ONE CHiX coach, and a second coach also wants to extend an offer; club director, Tina Jasinowski, will contact the parent of said player and ask WHICH OFFER the player wants to pursue - the other offer will be rescinded. In choosing which offer you want to pursue, you do not have to make a decision (accept or decline) on that offer at that time, only which offer you want to keep and which one you want to release.
Players who receive an offer for a "lower" division team in an age group (BLACK, WHiTE or SiLVER) and subsequently get "offered up" to a higher level team during the offer process, will also have to decide which of the two teams they want to pursue - they will not be able to keep two offers "open" with us at the same time. If a player is "offered up" from a lower team to a higher team, they will receive that offer from the coach of the higher team and will be told that they must then decide if they wish to pursue the new, higher-level offer or remain with the original, lower-team offer. On our tryout registration form, you will be able to indicate whether or not you would want to pursue the higher offer.
PLEASE NOTE: We suggest that you/your family discuss the possibilities BEFORE attending tryouts so that you know the path you want to take - do you want the highest possible offer or do you need to stay on a lower-level team for travel, financial, logistical reasons. Please review proposed practice and tournament schedules, read the coaches' profiles, review the club fees for ALL the teams you are pursuing so that you know what team you would play for and what team you are not interested in - this will help you during the offer process!
Within 48 hours of the end of the final tryout session for each respective age group, TRYOUT RESULTS WILL BE POSTED ONLINE via our homepage: www.aircitychicks.com - these results will list players by their tryout number and within their age group. Status will be indicated as: offered, accepted, waitlist. Please remember the number you are issued at tryouts and please note that players CAN move from one status to another as acceptances/declines are received.
ACCEPTANCE DEADLINES for the 2025-26 CHiX CLUB SEASON
Offers made for ALL AiR CiTY CHiX 2025-26 club teams will follow the Acceptance Signing Deadline established by the OVR (Ohio Valley Region). If you are trying out for teams at other clubs and those teams/clubs are OVR/USAV member clubs, they will need to follow the OVR/USAV acceptance deadline listed below. While AiR CiTY CHiX would like to get your response as soon as possible in order to finalize teams and let waitlist players know their final status, we want you to fully evaluate your options before giving us your decision. Please don't hesitate to contact the coach who made your offer or the club director should you have any questions/concerns about your offer.
AiR CiTY CHiX OFFER ACCEPTANCE SIGNING DEADLINES for the 2025-26 CLUB SEASON

HOW TO ACCEPT OR DECLINE A CHiX OFFER for the 2025-26 CLUB SEASON
PLAYERS may VERBALLY accept or decline an offer verbally when on the phone, but we are REQUIRED by the OVR to have a WRITTEN RESPONSE from a PARENT or GUARDIAN of the player to formally accept or decline an offer. Parents or guardians are asked to complete our ONLINE OFFER RESPONSE FORM in order to "officially" respond to the offer. You will need to include player name, player TRYOUT NUMBER, team offered, player & parent cell number, parent email address, and your answer on the form; and, if you are ACCEPTING the offer, you will also be required to pay an initial deposit of your club fee - this deposit will be applied to the balance due for your full fee. A link to our "offer response form" will be published here, will be emailed to each parent of an offered player, and will also be posted on the homepage of our website once tryouts are underway.
During the tryout and offer process, if you receive a phone offer from us but DO NOT receive the accompanying EMAIL offer within 24 hours of the phone offer, please check your SPAM folder; if you still don't have it, please then contact club director, Tina Jasinowski at acchicks@gmail.com to ensure we have your correct email address.
